Kids-of-noteSpring09Kids of Note

Kids of Note is an inclusive choir for children who love to sing. The current 25 members are from 7 to 18 years of age, and many have been with the group since it began in September 2005. Every year they perform a Christmas and a spring concert, to a full house at Grosvenor Park United Church in Saskatoon. While the church generously provides a "home" for the group, Kids of Note is not a religious choir per se. That said, their music is uplifting, fun, and often challenging.

Led by founding director Brenda Baker with pianist Ken Neitz, Kids of Note is made possible through the volunteer efforts of approximately 100 people and the generous donations of many, many more.

As of February, 2010, 24 children were on the waiting list for the choir. The Steering Committee is investigating ways to develop and fund a group into which the older KON members may "graduate." Like Kids of Note, this would be a non-auditioned inclusive choir which welcomes young adults and adults who love to sing. A pilot project began in September of 2009 that included 4 KoN graduates, and 2 young adults new to our program. This group is led by Diane Phillips.
